2025 Presidential election: CANVI designs social contract to help Cameroon choose next president

By Noela EBOB BISONG

CANVI (Cameroon New Vision), has proposed a Social Contract for Cameroon, as the country gears up to

choose its next leader. With majority of Cameroonians clamouring for change, the think tank, coming after the

Catholic Church in Cameroon, has also outlined various qualities, competences, responsibilities and

expectations of Cameroon’s next Head of State. CANVI comprise a group of patriotic Cameroonians at home

and in the diaspora, striving to ensure the 2025 presidential election is issues-based, not distracted by

subjective considerations.

The proposal, hinging on political, economic, social, technological, linguistic etc aspects, without referencing

any political aspirant, succeeds to bring to light the image needed for the country’s next boss.

Signed by household names within the media landscape in the country (Eric Chinje, Simon Moussi and

Franklin Sone Bayen), it seeks to educate the Cameroonian public to help it choose a reputable leader come

October.
