The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Front SDF and flagbearer of the party in the October 2025 presidential election, Hon. Joshua Osih, has received blessings from Côté D’Ivoire, to successfully engage the ‘political and economic liberation’ of Cameroon and proudly represent the African Left in the forthcoming election. Attending the 3rd edition of the Renaissance Festival which took place last April 11 and 12 in Dabou, Côté D’Ivoire, Osih was guest of honour of former Ivorian President, Laurent Gbagbo. During the event, the SDF Chieftain participated in the official opening ceremony of the festival, including the symbolic ribbon cutting, on April 11. The Renaissance Festival symbolises the liberation of Laurent Gbagbo from prison, following his acquittal by the International Criminal Court (ICC), on March 31, 2021. The event was first launched by the Ivorian Popular Front (FPI) titled, Festival of LibertyLaurent Gbagbo and Joshua Osih, in the course of the festival are said to have engaged fruitful discussions on their shared vision for a united sovereign Africa- free from the chains of neo-colonialism and firmly committed to social justice, geniune democracy, and inclusive development.
