The Social Democratic Front, SDF, party for South West Region of Cameroon now has a new chairman.
The former Mayor of Kumba III Sub Divisional Council from 2013 to 2020 HRH Chief John Kona Makia will henceforth pilot the affairs of the party for the South West Region.
He and his new executive were overwhelming acclaimed during the re-organisation of the party that took place at the St John Catholic Church Hall, Saturday, August 26, 2023.
The Makia-led executive includes Mbella Eliver John as Vice Regional Chair, Barrister Mengot Ferdinand as Secretary, Chia Promise as Regional Organising Secretary, Journalists Mbunwe Innocent and Andrew Noseka as Communication Secretary and Vice Regional Secretary, Ejema Bisong as Treasurer and Atebale Marshal as vice Organising Secretary.
Shortly after the elections, HRH Chief John Kona Makia, who doubles as Traditional Ruler of Malende Village in Kumba III Sub Division in Meme Division, remained thankful to the electorate for seeing in him the leadership qualities necessary to pilot the affairs of the party in the Southwest. He said he is a social democrat and he shall make sure the party moves back to her social democracy position as wished by the founding fathers.
He said he has the duty to serve the population preach social democracy and continue to educate the militants across the board, on federation which is the position of the party as opposed to decentralization being implemented by the powers that be.
The new SDF South West Regional chair John Kona makia is not a new name in the party. He served as District Electoral Chair of Kumba III for many yearsand regional secretary.
