The Ministry of Public Works has grabbed the Best Sectorial Organisation Award at the 13th edition of the Government Action Fair better known by its French acronym SAGO. The award was given at the end of SAGO last July 27, 2024 by the organiser of the event, Mon Communicateur, Patrick Assiga.
With its stand standing gigantically directly opposite the main entrance of the Yaounde Sports Complex at Warda last July 20 to 27, 2024, the Ministry of Public Works was entertaining visitors with its vast road and other public works projects.
The Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi visited the stand together with the Secretary General of the Ministry, Noel Mve, last July 24, 2024 to galvanize his staff.
Talking to The SUN at the Government Action Fair, SAGO 2024, Assistant Head of the Communication Unit of the Ministry of Public Works, Landry Alima explained that, “We are once again at this 13th edition of SAGO which enables public administration to give direct answers to the preoccupations of the population. That is why the Minister of Public Works accepted that his ministry should be present to answer some preoccupations on all projects. We are presenting to the public certain infrastructures to be received this 2024 as you can see from our stand here. Such is the case with Phase I of the Yaounde-Douala motorway which is totally completed, and its putting into use is highly awaited, the Bridge over River Logone which will link Cameroon to Chad and whose works are completely done, there is also the Babadjou-Bamenda road which first section is almost complete. Works on the Babadjou-Matazem section is already completed and the reception will be done equally this year.”
Landry Alima concluded that “There is a Marquette you are seeing here, it is the Bridge over River Nyong at Malombo whose works were launched last June 2024 by the Public Works Minister, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi and it is under execution. We hope that after 30 months, this bridge will be done. As I said earlier, our mission here at SAGO is to provide answers to the preoccupations of the public especially our visitors.”
