Dr Erise Mary Dinga is new Ambassador of Youth Connext Programmme

The President of the EMMI EMPIRE, Dr Erise Mary Dinga has been raised to the rank of one of the Ambassadors of the joint Government-UN Youth Connext Cameroon Programme and given the attributes of Ambassador by Youth Affairs and Civic Education Minister, Mounouna Foutsou. This took place recently at the Yaounde Mont Febe Hotel, during the signing ceremony of partnership agreement between MINJEC and EMMI Empire incorporated, for the empowerment of Cameroonian youths on moral education and financial lines.

The partnership agreement was signed by Minister Mounouna Foutsou and the President of the EMMI EMPIRE, Dr Erise Mary Dinga during a ceremony attended by the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, the Minister of Women Empowerment and the Family, Prof Marie Therese Abena Ondoa, the Secretary General of the Centre Region, Simon Ghislain Estil.

The Minister explained that the partnership is intended to support the implementation of the joint Government-UN Youth Connext Cameroon Programme which was launched on December 9, 2019 under the distinguished patronage of the President of the Republic, H.E Paul Biya and it is aimed at connecting young people to opportunities leading to their socio-economic integration in the country.

Presenting the orientation of the Phase II of the joint Government-UN Connext Cameroon programme, Essama Marthurin who is also focal point of the programme said by 2029, youths will have equitable access to socioeconomic insertion in Cameroon.

Minister Mounouna Foutsou said, “The Phase II is considered as an extension phase from 2024 to 2029. The programme will henceforth develop an ecosystem and have impact assessment.”

In her speech, Dr Erise Mary Dinga said, “We will support the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education in the sensitisation of youths on the Youth Connext Programme, sensitise and mobilise youths for their participation to activities previewed within the framework of this partnership agreement, implicate MINJEC in the technical and logistic conception of initiatives to organise within the framework of the present convention.”

She announced that they are intending to organise a youth forum on entrepreneurship from October 17-28, 2024 in Yaounde.
