The new acting General Manager of ANOR – the standards regulatory public establishment, Andely nee Ndomo Ndongo is said to have been appointed by the board after the death of former General Manager, Charles Botoo a Ngon, on June 29.
The decision to appoint Andely was validated recently by the Board of Directors during the 16th extra-ordinary session of ANOR that held in Yaoundé “The Council, after having gone through the provisions relating to the general statutes of public establishments and article 34 paragraph 3 of the decree of March 19, 2019, unanimously appointed Andely nee Momo Ndongo Chantal. Charles Botoo a Ngon held this position for 14 years.
Chantal Andely is seen to having great expertise in the fields of standardisation, certification and quality management. She is expected to take up the challenges of her predecessor while trying to create her own mark to adapt ANOR to current economic challenges.
The new CEO’s mission will have to push the boundaries of competitiveness of national companies, promoting product excellence and the internationalisation of Cameroonian products.
ANOR, the standards regulatory public establishment is a legal personality with financial autonomy placed under the technical supervision Ministry of Industry (Minmidt) and the financial supervision of the Ministry of Finance (MINFI). It plays a key role in the development of national standards, the conformity of products and services and the promotion of the quality approach among companies. It is also linked to the main international standardisation organisations.
