Schools suffer arson attacks from unidentified individuals

Schools around Meme Division have been subjects of attacks in the past weeks by unidentified individuals. While Education stakeholders in Ndian Division were still to conclude investigation on who must have set fire on the girls dormitory of the St Pius College Ekondo –Titi, unidentified persons were reported to have attacked the administrative block of Government Bilingual High School, GBHS Mambanda- Kumba III Sub Division,Meme Division. According to the authorities of the school, the school was visited on November 12, 2017 by yet to be identified individuals who set fire to the administrative block.
Thanks to the vigilance of some neighbours, the fire was quickly put out. It should be noted that, this is the second time GBHS Mambanda has been attacked despite the presence of security forces .Meanwhile at GHS Ebonji in Tombel Sub Division, the school was attacked by some youths who chased out students and teachers from classes. Despite all the attacks, school resumption in this locality is reported to have gained steam.
