Dangote Cement Cameroon produces over 938,000 tons of cement in 2017

The fastest- growing cement manufacturer and distributor Dangote Group cemented by the river Wouri in Douala has been reported to have made increased sales of 938.000 tons as at September 30 this year, an increase of 16.4% vis a vis 806.000 tons same period last year.
According to reports had from reliable sources officials boasted that “Our Pan-African operations are performing strongly with excellent sales growth in Cameroon, Ethiopia and Senegal”. They say a ton of cement now costs FCFA 60.000.

Among it’s peers CIMAF, La Farge-Holcim, MEDECM and others, Dangote Group is proven to have a cement market leadership share of 46% while the others share what is left. Note should be taken however, that the sales reports revealed are yet to be audited.
All the same, at the continental level, Dangote Cement remains the leading cement producer in Africa with figures indicating approximately 46 Mta. It also has what they call clinker grinding centres with a clinker grinding capacity of 1.5 Mta in Cameroon.
In the countries that the cement giant exists the smallest production capacity is found in Sierra Leone with a capacity of 0.5 Mta. Zambia, Congo, Ghana and Senegal have 1.5 Mta, while in Ethiopia the capacity, rises to 2.5 Mta and surges to 29.25 Mta in Nigeria.
The competition brought in by Dangote Cement and other peers is making the quality standards of the products a lot better at affordable prices.
