His Royal Highness, Chief Molive Molungu Otto of Batoke village, in the Limbe II sub division, has called on the youths of his village,to be more committed to community issues and contribute their utmost best to the development of the village. He said this on March 20, while receiving New Year Wishes, at his palace.
The Chief frowned at the laxity of the youths concerning community work, and said their participation is less to be desired.
“It’s not proper to always summon you on this, thus I am calling on you to desist from this laxity and always show commitment by coming out when there is call for community work”, Chief Molungu said. He also called on the youths to be law abiding and shun any act that will tarnish the image of the village and the country as a whole.
Chief Molungu emphasized that “The youth’s committee must come out from its traditional management of the youths to an all modern offensive style, building the youths for future challenges”he stated, and added that they should form associations, and take advantage of the numerous opportunities put at their disposal by the government through the ministry of youths and civic education.
The Divisional Officer for the LimbeII Subdivision, Ndouga Emaran,said he was very proud to see many tribal community heads present at the ceremony, which to him, shows an eloquent proof of living together. The D.O. equally cautioned the population of Batoke to be more vigilant, as “Batoke is open to the entire world because it is besides the sea, and in that effect, there should be total vigilance, with regards to the social unrest we are facing since November 2016”, Ndouga Emaran told the population.
On his part, the chairperson of the village council, Mbella Eko Raphael, appealed to chief Molungu, to reinforce vigilance in the entire community, revamp the water sector and extendthe water network in quarters etc.
Chief Molive Molungu appreciated the Government Delegate to the Limbe City Council who heard their cry of road network and came to their aid by maintaining three streets in the community, and equallyused the opportunity to invite his community to massively partake in the Limbe FESTAC event, which is billed for April 7- 14 2018.vv
