Polling stations in Limbe on October 7 were dominated by polling agents of the ruling CPDM party as those of opposition candidates were no where to be found.
Speaking to The SUN, the polling commission chairman of the Limbe Urban Council polling station A, Etchi Arrey said the election started at 8:00am with 226 electors but only 210 voted he said the exercise went on smoothly.
According to reports we gathered, that most voters were stranded because they did not know where to vote because some polling stations were removed from remote areas to secure areas to prevent voters and electoral officers from separatist fighters attack.
Speaking to The SUN shortly after voting, the CPDM section president for Fako I A, Motanga Andrew Monjimba said voting is a very important duty and it is a civic right that each and every Cameroonian must exercise and choose their president who has to govern the nation for seven years.
“I have performed my own civic right and I expect every Cameroonian to do the same. Come and choose your leader, people should not choose for you. People should not put fear in your minds,” Motanga said.
It should be noted that the election in Limbe went on hitch free with security officers patrolling around town to scare separatist fighters from staging any attack. However at the end of the vote count in Limbe, The SUN learned there was no incident recorded in Limbe.
