The first Assistant Divisional Officer for Limbe I sub-division, Ekwpah Susan, has frowned at the attitude of some quarter heads in Limbe who were recently appointed, for not collaborating with the administration.
The observation was made on Tuesday March 19, 2019 at the council hall down beach by Ekwpah Susan, while in a contact meeting with the newly appointed quarter heads of Limbe I, who were recently installed in royal function by the Divisional Officer in their various quarters.
The administrator expressed her disappointment that, most of the quarter heads do not cooperate with the administration, as she said only two quarter heads out of 40 have formed vigilante groups in their quarters.
She therefore gave 10 days to the quarter heads to form vigilante groups in their quarters or risk dismissal from their functions in the Limbe I Subdivision.
During a working session with the quarter heads, most of them bitterly complained about the reluctant attitude of the forces of law and order for not always responding to their quarters in times of need; some quoted how a notorious suspected criminal was caught at the Monjimbo quarter and handed to the police but the criminal escaped from the police station.
The quarter head of Mokaba farm also quoted how a suspected thief was caught in his quarter and they called on the Police emergency number 117 but no Police officer responded; the quarter heads all in one voice expressed worries how vigilante groups in their quarters can face armed individuals with guns.
But the DO insisted that those chosen in their quarters as vigilante elements will be trained by the forces of law and order on how they can contribute in promoting peace and security in the Limbe I Subdivision.
