MTN launches “Minga and the Broken Spoon” through yabadoo platform

Another platform for distributors of the film industry and their film lovers in Cameroon have had their sources multiplied through the introduction of the MTN Cameroon yabadoo platform.
The film called “Minga and the Broken Spoon” which is said to be the story of an orphan girl who broke a spoon, has received several national and international awards such as the special jury rating at the Ecran Noir festival in Cameroon in 2018 and the best international film at the Kingston Festival in Jamaica and in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire among others. It is known to be the handiwork of MTN Cameroon in close collaboration with the Cameroon Films Industry and distributor of Cameroon movies, and is said to have been released since October 1, 2019.

Claye Edou was said to have been in high spirit when he noted that his public has been provided with this innovation to watch what he called his masterpiece, on their smartphones wherever they may be in the nation.
“It is an immense joy for me to be able to share my production with so many film lovers thanks to the yabadoo application thus, sharing this fabulous story punctuated by local music, featuring endearing characters who share local values.”
Minga is the latest among 90 and more movies in the yabadoo package which is soon to include short films.
According to MTN Cameroon C.E.O. Hendrick Kasteel, “with yabadoo which we launched in September 2018, MTN Cameroon’s mission is to promote local cinema by providing a platform for Cameroonian producers to distribute and monetise their works on the national territory with one click.”
