The SUN has gathered that a lifeless body was found behind a church in Boa Street, in the Kumba II Sub-Division during the early hours of Wednesday October, 23, 2019.
Denizens around the area are said to have identified the corpse to be the remains of a boy called Pascal, popularly known as Tonkin.
Sources disclosed that the deceased was one of those ‘fake amba fighters’ who had been harassing bike riders with weapons.
A resident of the neighbourhood who leaves meters away from the deceased confirmed that Pascal was not an ‘amba fighter’ though he is fond of harassing bike riders in the name of ‘amba’. He narrated that on the night of Tuesday, October, 22, the victim harassed an ‘amba fighter’ who passed for a bike rider and collected the sum of FCFA 200,000 from the rider at gunpoint. The said fighter who is alleged to have surrendered the money to Pascal pretended to have driven off but rather watched keenly where the deceased entered after their encounter.
Reports hold that the fighter called for reinforcement from his colleagues who came in their numbers and at about 10pm several gunshots were firedd around the neighbourhood. Pascal was fished out by the fighters and taken behind a certain church where he was killed.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed sources say he was among the ‘amba fighters’ who claimed to have laid their guns during the Prime Minister’s visit to Kumba.
