“That village is calm; the population is living in peace. I even drank palm wine with them that means the population is working, going to their farms; they are carrying out their normal activities. What they are talking about in the social media I don’t think that is the Banga Bakundu in Meme Division”, he noted.
The population on their part received the SDO with happiness but hoped for better and conducive environment in the days ahead.
“We are very happy to welcome the SDO in our midst and it gives us joy to see people like him remember us”, an inhabitant said.
The administrator also told the population that there is need for them to preach peace, calling on separatist fighters to drop their weapons and be pardoned by the state. He further thanked those who are permanently working to bring peace within the entire division.
Worth nothing is the fact that Mile 40 is the only locality along the Kumba-Buea highway that has been enjoying relative calm since the start of the armed conflict as no serious confrontation has been recorded.
