The new Ambassador of Israel to Cameroon H.E. Isi Yanouka has expressed the wish to see his country invest more in water management in Cameroon. Three months after presenting his creden-tials to Cameroon authorities, the Israeli diplomat was received in audience last May 18, 2020 in Yaounde by the Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey in his cabinet.
After both personalities examined the relationship existing since 1960 between Cameroon and Israel with focus on technological innovation, and security, the Ambassador said he will like to see it take another volume in the domain of water management. He reminded the Minister of Economy, Plan-ning and Regional Development that his country is already investing in this domain via the pro-gramme “Innovation Africa” which aims at realising more than 37 potable water points in the Far North region of Cameroon.
On his part, Minister Alamine Ousmane Mey said he will like Israel’s expertise in water management to help in the development of intelligent agriculture with the implication of other concerned ministries such as that of Agriculture and Rural Development, MINADER, Scientific Research and Innovation, MINRESI.
They equally used the occasion to review Israel’s technical assistance to Cameroon in the fight against insecurity in the three northern regions, North West and South West regions of Cameroon as well as the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic that has pushed countries to give preference to digital activities.
