Following Ministerial Order No.0000008 of MINFI of 30th March 2022, Jackson Teke Malange has been installed as the new Finance Controller (FC) of the University of Buea.
The installation exercise which took place on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the ASTII conference hall saw the new Finance Controller, Jackson Teke Malange take over from Enyawe Ebwea Richard who served in that position for 7 years.
Representing the Minister of Finance and installing the new FC was Madam Augusta Njock Arrey Etah epse Tabenyang, the Director of Budgetary Control Audit and Expenditure Quality at the Ministry of Finance who encouraged the new Finance Controller to emulate the examples of his predecessor bearing in mind the sensitive nature of the job. She was confident that Jackson Malange’s wealth of experience will make him effective in his new duty post.
“Be open-minded and make the right decisions. I am certain that you will do a great job. You have to move closer to your authorizing officer. You are an old broom in the field but still strong enough to remove any dirt”, she remarked. Madam Tabenyang however thanked the outgoing finance controller, Enyawe Richard for his selfless service to the University of Buea and encouraged him to continue on the same path in his new duty post.
She thereafter handed the official stamps and office keys to the new FC giving him the full capacity to go about his role as the finance controller of the University.
The Registrar of the University of Buea, Prof. Bechem Eneke representing the Vice Chancellor, thanked the outgoing Finance Controller for his outstanding services to UB. She welcomed the new FC and urged him to discharge his duties diligently and help UB better manage its finances. “Once you are fair in judgment, you would not have any problems,” she advised.
Talking to the press after the installation ceremony, the new Finance Controller of the University of Buea, Jackson Teke Malange thanked the Minister of Finance for the renewed confidence bestowed on him after serving as finance controller for two structures; Chamber of Agriculture and the Investment Promotion Agency. “The role of a finance controller is to accompany the vote holder and I think that is what I have been called up to do. I will do my very best to accompany the vote holders here in the University of Buea. We have to make sure that we accompany those in charge of the execution of the state budget so that they can come to the realization of their objectives,” he averred.
In a gala which held at the Buea Council later that day, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea, Prof. Ngomo Horace Manga reported present wherein he officially welcomed Malange Jackson into the University as the new finance controller. He urged him to do his work judiciously with all fairness and transparency. The VC, nonetheless assured the new FC of the University’s full support and collaboration in helping him in the discharge of his duties.
