Limbe FESTAC 2017 slated for April 8-15.

It is that time of the year again when lovers of culture and arts will converge on the city of Limbe for the most anticipated cultural jamboree in the country.
The Limbe Festival of Arts and Culture, FESTAC 2017 which has been announced for April 8-15 is usually an event that transforms the city into a cultural hub, bringing together a superfluity of cultures from all around Cameroon and West Africa.
The first preparatory meeting was held last week and chaired by the Secretary General at the Limbe City Council, Charles Arrey Nkongho, representing the Government Delegate, Motanga Andrew Monjimba who was unavoidably absent in the presence of Stakeholders including representatives from SONARA and CDC – Natural sponsors of the cultural feast.
Worthy of note is the fact that the Limbe FESTAC is an annual cultural event that started in 2014 and is in its fourth year. The event brings together delegations from the four cultural pillars of the nation including; the Sawa, the Fang Betis, the grassfields and the sudano-sahelian cultural groupings.
The cultural fiesta also brings together delegations from other Western and Central African communities in Limbe including; The Beninese, the Nigerians, the Togolese and the Ghanaians.
Limbe FESTAC is usually characterized by Cultural parades, traditional dances, gastronomic displays, carnival, marathon, canoe race, wrestling and a beauty pageant.
