The Minister of Secondary Education and Head of the CPDM Central Committee Permanent Divisional Delegation (PDD) for Fako, Prof. Pauline Nalova Lyonga, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, during the launch of CPDM Fako Regional election campaign in Limbe I Council, Bota, pressed for a united CPDM in Fako, to bury hatchets and speak with one voice. The PDD Head also acknowledged that the party encountered difficulties during the October 12 presidential election but praised Fako option for embracing peace.

“Anywhere where people are holding elections, it is always so difficult. So difficult because some people look at it as a time to pay back to others that they think have hurt them. Fako is not an exception,”Prof Pauline Nalova insisted.
Nalova’s meeting with her Fako CPDM militants was the first since the October 12 Presidential election during which the party recorded very poor results as compared to previous elections.
She used the occasion to call on the militants to leave all that behind and focus on what lies ahead of them which is the Regional Council election.
In Fako Division, the CPDM is running unopposed. Everything being equal, the party is expected to record a 100 percent win.
The electoral college for the Regional election is made up exclusively of Municipal councillors of the different Councils in the Division.
Given that all seven councils in Fako are controlled by the CPDM Party, the party, normally, should claim 100%.
Minister Nalova implored her fellow party comrades who shall be voting to bury their differences and put their party’s interest first on Sunday, November 30.
The South West Regional Council is made up of 90 councillors; 20 of the 90 are Chiefs who shall be voted exclusively by fellow chiefs across the Region.
Fako has the lion share of a total of 21 aspirants who are vying to be elected into the South West Regional Council. Amongst the 21 are seven women.
The Fako list is headed by Hon. Paul Njie Meoto, one time Chief of Cabinet at the Prime Minister’s Office under Musonge. To add to him is Ngundu Francis Mokomba, Effoe Rebecca Limunga, Mafany Njie among others.
One of the aspirants, Limunga Rebecca Effoe, who is vying for a second mandate, said during the Limbe campaign rally that in their first mandate, they “planted the seeds of development.”
