Chairing the workshop on behalf of Minister Gabriel Dodo Ndoke of Mines to set up a working platform between the Ministry of Mines, Industries and Technological Development and the Civil Society Organizations, the Secretary General of the Ministry, Fru Jonathan reminded participants that Cameroon is relying much on this sub sector in its quest to become emergent by 2035 as instructed by the President of the Republic, Paul Biya.
He told participants that “it is a huge responsibility placed on you as civil society actors and officials of our ministry to put things in order to deliver the expected results.”
In a chat with reporters, Fru Jonathan said “the Ministry of Mines has put in place this platform with the civil society to be able to come together, reflect and put in ideas in charge of our development in order to ensure the growth of our country. We understand that our ministry is in charge of the sector’s development in our country and this sector has many actors involved such as the civil society and the government. In order to harmonize their efforts and ensure the growth of Cameroon, we decided to put in place this platform tasked to come up with a roadmap to develop this sector which is at the centre of the growth of our country.”
