Addressing the population, Meme SDO said the items are the government’s way to assist them during this difficult moment. He said the government is aware of the challenges the population is going through during this crisis period, that is why they have decided to assist with some basic and food items.
Quizzed about the bias way of distribution that has often had some families collecting while others are left empty handed, Meme SDO disclosed that “This matter has been partially solved. You know some are coming to register themselves while others don’t; we are trying to manage according to the information available. The truth is that those who are in Mbonge Sub-Division, it is not easy for them to come and register, that is why their own share will be sent at the level of Mbonge and also those who are coming from Mbalangi, Mbakwa Supe, Matoh and so on, their case is also a little bit particular, because they cannot be with us now. I know what to do, how to take consideration and am sure that gradually we are trying to do our best to ensure that each of them is served”.
The Sub-Director In-charge of Civil Protection at the Ministry of Territorial Administration (MINAT), Gilbert Nchuente, on his part assured the population of their constant support during this crisis period. He added that the fourth consignment targets 2000 internally displaced families.
“For this particular mission we are targeting about 2000 families, that is why you saw mattresses, bags of rice, cooking oil, soap, to come and support them because the Head of State is aware of the fact that most of them are still in an emergency situation, so they need some food items to assist themselves”, the director noted.
