Mabeta ‘Njanga’ youths apprehend two alleged separatist fighters

A Ghanaian tailor married to a Cameroonian have survived from the hands of alleged separatist fighters who kidnapped him in Mabeta ‘Njanga’, in the Limbe III Subdivision, Fako Division.
According to reports, The SUN gathered that youths of Mabeta ‘Njanga’ almost killed two alleged separatist fighters on Wednesday January 8, 2020. Locals say the said separatist fighters had kidnapped the Ghanaian tailor in the market and took him to the bush, demanding for a ransom of FCFA 5 million.
Reports further hold that when the information got to the youths of Mabeta ‘Njanga’, the separatist fighters allowed the tailor to go but not before collecting FCFA 25000 from him.
The youths of Mabeta ‘Njanga’ are said to have mobilised themselves and went after the alleged separatist fighters and later caught up with two of the alleged separatist fighters and got them well beaten and would have squeezed life out of them, but for the timely intervention of the military, The SUN learnt.
Following the incident, the Divisional Officer for Limbe III Subdivision Epolewane Verkline went down to Mabeta ‘Njanga’ to encourage the youths and she urged them to form vigilante groups to secure the village from unknown attackers. This was also echoed by the mayor of the Limbe III municipality, Nseke Luma.
