PM Dion Ngute, World ICC President, Maria Fernanda talk business development opportunities

The Prime Minister, Head of government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute last March 6, 2024 at the Star Building in Yaounde granted an audience to the World President of the International Chamber of Commerce, ICC, Maria Fernanda Garza.

Cameroon Prime Minister and the World President of the International Chamber of Commerce used the occasion to throw more lights on several aspects concerning the country’s Small and Medium Sized Enterprises SMEs.

They first discussed was the digitalisation of commercial and customs documents, which will enable a greater number of Cameroonian SMEs have access to the international market. The PM and the World ICCP resident, also talked on the development of the agricultural sector, through programs and workshops that will improve productivityquality of output and value. “We have the agri-food programme, which we have discussed with the Chamber of Agriculture in Cameroon. We will support the country by meeting all requirements and building farmers capacities,” Maria Fernanda said.

The International Chamber of Commerce is reported to have offered its support to the government in the field of housing, by assisting government to draw up contracts that will have little or no conflicts.

The International Institution said this will support the creation of businesses in the country which can only grow and be sustainable if backed by strong legal contracts and solid and durable infrastructures. Maria Fernanda Garza, who is of Mexican nationality, was accompanied to this meeting with the Prime Minister by the President of Cameroons ICC office, Perrial Nyodog. The ICC was founded in 1919, with main aim to represent companies worldwide and to promote trade and investments, create and expand markets for goods and services, and the free movement of capital. Its members are companies based in 130 countries world-wide, Cameroon included.
