ELICHRIS Foundation puts smiles on faces of widows and orphans in Buea

Widows and orphans in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon last Saturday, March 16, 2024 benefited from the largesse of the ELICHRIS Foundation.

They received items such as cooking oil, packets of maggi, bags of rice, savons, toilet rolls, salt, sanitary pads etc.

The founder of the ELICHRIS foundation, Elizabeth Namondo epse Njofang noted that the foundation has been in existence for 7 years now and they have touched other villages in and out of the South West region. She encouraged the beneficiaries of the items; the widows and the orphans to use the items given them judiciously and she promised that the ELICHRIS foundation will always be there to put smiles on their faces.

Talking to the press after the event, a member of the foundation,Eposi Quinta Mekumba talking on behalf of the founder noted thatthe ELICHRIS foundation was founded by Mr and Mrs Christopher Njofang. “The wife’s name is Elizabeth and the husband Christopher. That was how they combined both names and came up with the name of the foundation; ELICHRIS. This is a baby foundation where we assist widows, orphans, less-privileged and the handicappedpersons in our community. We are here to tell them that all hopes are not lost and we will are willing and ready to assist/support way in the little way we can”.

She added that the foundation has previously visited other remote areas like Mabeta where the foundation donated to the widows and orphans of the area. “We have visited and donated to orphanages in Douala and also some schools where we encouraged the students especially the meritorious ones. We were also out during the celebration of the International day of the girl child to encourage and educate our young girls on the importance of sanitary hygiene and their health. We handed them sanitary pads and a lot more”. She noted.

Appreciating the gesture of the ELICHRIS foundation was Mama Johana Enjema and Mama Elizabeth Mwambo who said such a gesture was indeed a laudable one. They noted that they didn’t expect that the foundation will think of them that mightily. They prayed for God’s infinite blessings and protection on the founders and all members of the foundation.

The orphanage director equally added her voice to others thanking the foundation for their donations and said the items given to the orphans will go a long way to help them.

Committed towards taking care of the orphans, supporting widows, underprivileged and handicapped persons in the society, the ELICHRIS foundation equally intends to subsequently reach out to others in need. The foundation reached out to widows of the Bokwango community in Buea and orphans at the St. Joseph orphanage Bokova.
