Order of Physicians: after his election, Rodolphe Fonkoua chooses to tackle unemployment among young graduates

As he had promised during the campaign last December, Rodolphe Fonkoua (photo), the new president of the National Order of Physicians of Cameroon (ONMC), convened an extraordinary general assembly to open the debate on youth unemployment practitioners. From a source close to the organization of this event, which will be held on April 5 in Yaoundé, Rodolphe Fonkoua (photo) plans to present the study on the extent of unemployment among young doctors, which he commissioned after his election last December. Our interlocutor adds that this study contains updated unemployment figures for young doctors.

The sheet produced by the ONMC to announce this extraordinary general meeting effectively makes it known that it will largely be a question of taking stock of this form of unemployment. But in addition to this inventory, Rodolphe Fonkoua wants possible solutions to be put on the table during this extraordinary general meeting.

During the campaign which led him to head the ONMC at the end of last year, Rodolphe Fonkoua long explained to his peers that the time had come to reduce unemployment in this profession, which very often affects young doctors. . He was elected with the promise of  “reestablishing the doctor in all his dignity”.

In his campaign program, Rodolphe Fonkoua already made some proposals. For example, he suggests lobbying the government for the development of incentive measures to encourage young doctors to occupy  “medical deserts”  in the national triangle.
