A delegation of six officials from the Ministry of Higher Education of Cameroon embarked on a 10-day working visit to the United States of America last April 6 to 17, 2024. The delegation met with the media last April 29, 2024 for a debriefing at the US Embassy in Yaounde.
During the visit, participants gained greater understanding of the structure of higher education in the United States, including entry and exit requirements. They also had an in-depth exploration of the U.S. accreditation system: policies, structures, challenges, and explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation between universities in the United States and in Cameroon.
The Cameroonian delegation led by the Inspector General in charge of Academic Affairs, Prof Marcel Fouda Ndjodo, also included officials from the department of equivalences, the department of cooperation, and the department of comparative academic systems in the Ministry of Higher Education. In addition to Washington, DC, the delegation visited Baltimore in Maryland, Raleigh in North Carolina, and Chicago in Illinois.
Organized in the framework of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program, this visit is the result of the partnership between the Ministry of Higher Education and the Embassy of the United States in Cameroon.
