Walcutz Community Dev’t Association, LIV27 assist needy children in Limbe

As the ongoing crisis in the North West and South West Regions persists, a non-profit organisation known as Walcutz Community Development Association and LIV27 on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 doled out to needy children in Limbe Camp Street Two, free hair cut, didactic materials as well as food stuff.

The donations were funded by a United Arab Emirates based barbershop called LIV27. The founder of Walcutz Community Development Association, Ekie Walters Ngalle said the gesture aims to reach out to the needy and vulnerable in the community and also to kick-start the battle of beauticians, which is a three-day annual competition in Buea.

Ekie Walters told The SUN, “The donation targeted 500 kids. We are here to give free hair cut to the children whose parents couldn’t afford the FCFA 300; we are here to solve this simple problem”.

He added that the three-days barbering and beauty competition called ‘battle of the beauticians’ commences with the outreach programme in Limbe, beauty seminar on July 11, workshop on the 12 and beauty competition and award night on July 13, 2024.

“The winner of the competition will benefit from free training in Dubai and two years contract to work in Dubai”, Ekie Walters explained.

On his part, Mark, the representative of Liv27 said Ekie Walters explained to them the concept of the event and they bought the idea and decided to sponsor it. He urged the children to believe in their dreams and never to give up in life.

Limbe Camp 3 committee president, Moki Charles expressed satisfaction for the gifts donated and pleaded for more gestures from Walcutz Community Development Association and LIV27.
