The CDC GM observes that, “For a period of close to (6) six years, the Corporation is battling with the negative effects of the on-going political crisis of the North West and South West Regions of the Country.  Whilst a bulk of committed workers have braved all odds and continue to render services from 2018 to date in order to sustain the Corporation some have decided to stay away under the guise of an unending Technical Leave”.

Njie states that, “In a bid therefore to turn the stakes over for once and as  deliberated upon in the last Board of Director’s Meeting that held in June, 2024, Management is launching a ‘HEAD COUNT’ of all workers of the Corporation.”

According to the GM, CDC Management has put in place security dispositions across the Corporation to safeguard workers and property.

The GM says, “Workers are expected to present themselves physically, with original copies of their National identity Cards and shall sign and thumbprint against their names on the lists.

“A catch up period of (2) two weeks ending on the 31st day of August, 2024 will be granted to late comers”, the communiqué further reveals.

“After that date, all workers who may not have done the CENSUS EXERCISE SHALL BE CONSIDERED TO HAVE VOLUNTARILY ABANDONED WORK WITH EFFECT FROM THE 31ST DAY OF AUGUST, 2024 and their names removed from the Payroll System in line with policy in force as read in Section41 of the National Collective Agreement and Article 9 (d) (III) of the Internal Rules and Regulations of the Corporation”, Njie maintains.

The piece further indicates that, “Compulsory Attendance of work by all registered workers after the CENSUS EXERCISE especially those who are still loitering at home, will commence in all Estates as from the 1st day of September 2024”.
