To Improve Quality Healthcare; Bakweri Politics Whatsapp Group Reaches Out to Moquo Integrated Health Centre

Improving quality healthcare and contributing to development in Fako, members of the Bakweri Politics Whatsapp forum, through the ‘BP Development Fund’, have this Friday July 26 2024 donated some basic needs such as plastic chairs, a blood pressure machine, buckets, detergents (for cleaning) and a complete delivery kit to the Moquo Integrated Health Centre situated in the Tiko Sub-division, South West Region.

The items were handed to the Chief of Centre, Mme Ebai Ojong Adele by the Project Manager of the Bakweri Politics Development Fund, Simon Ngale Ekambi (Wonya Ngale) on behalf of the group.

Addressing the hospital staff and some traditional authorities present, the project manager, Simon Ngale Ekambi explained that “We are glad to be here today to contribute our own little quota by providing this health facility with some basic needs. We want the health Centre to use these items judiciously by making sure they maintain hygiene and sanitation”.

“Coming here today will also help us access your needs as a health facility so that subsequently, we can still intervene and help the Moquo health Centre”, the Project Manager told the COC of the Centre.

He appreciated members of the Bakweri Politics forum who put together their resources in order for the event and the donation to be a success. “This is a monthly contribution been done by members of the forum for us to come up with projects like these”.

The Chief of Centre for the Moquo Integrated Health Centre, Ebai Ojong Adele in her remark thanked the members of the BP forum for such a laudable gesture. “Before now, our health Centre was in dire need of such basic items but we are grateful to the Bakweri Politics members for reaching out to us in our time of need. These items given to us would not only serve the Centre but the community as whole”.

While thanking the BP members for the great donation, the COC mentioned that the facility needs beds, matrasses and solar energy. She pleaded with the BP members and other people of goodwill to continue helping them to provide quality healthcare to patients.

The Chief of Moquo, Ebengue Oscar Dipoko added his voice to that of the COC in appreciating the BP members for the donations. “It will be of great help to my people and I am sure others will copy your examples and also extend a helping hand to our facility”.

Talking to the press after the successful event, the BP Project manager of the fund, Wonya Ngale stated that “We chose Moquo integrated health Centre because we try to see how we can help those health facilities that are still struggling to develop. Our objective is to assist the health Centre to grow and help the patients as well”.

He urged the COC and her staff to make good use of the items given to the health facility. “Use the detergents to clean the health Centre so that hygiene and sanitation can at all times be maintained.

Also present at the event were some members of Bakweri Politics, members of the management committee of the Centre, Jehu Lizack and Tchalla Abudi Theodore who also expressed gratitude to the BP forum for such a laudable gesture and hoped to see them subsequently for other projects.

It should be recalled that a similar exercise took place on Wednesday February 28 2024 during which BP members donated similar items to the Bobende Integrated Health Centre in the Limbe 2 Sub-division. The BP Development Fund is an initiative created in 2023 within the BP Whatsapp group whereby members are encouraged to donate FCFA 2,000 to the fund monthly and at the end of 4 months, members deliberate and agree on a small-scale project to carry out within Fako Division in the South West Region.
