Tiko councilors urged to step up at dawn of their mandate

The Mayor of Tiko council, Daniel Moukondo Ngande, has entreated his colleague councilors to gird up their loins, work hard to attain their objectives, as they approach the end of the political mandate. Mayor Moukondo was speaking last Wednesday during the first ordinary session to examine the administrative and stores management accounts for 2016.

According to the Mayor, the period of grace when excuses could be accepted and tolerated due to lack of experience of the deliberating team has long passed. He urged that henceforth, their objectives shall be geared towards enhancing, developing and improving on the living standards of the Tiko population.
Presenting an analysis of the 2016 action plan and level of realization of the council, the Mayor revealed that 12 out of the 14 projects funded by the council have been executed at 100% while seven out of the eight Public Investment Projects funded by the State were executed at 100%.
“Our electorates in particular and the community as a whole should at this point be able to advocate on our behalf based on physical and feasible realizations. The achievements of this team since September 2013, without sounding our own trumpet, can speak for themselves,” Moukondo added.
Speaking on behalf of the SDO, Vincent Lokombe commended the Mayor and councilors for the excellent realization of the 2016 investment projects in the municipality. The first assistant SDO however recommended that the council to complete the ongoing plans for the construction of offices and toilets at the Tiko Motor Park: and the construction of classrooms at GS Misselele.
Vincent Lokombe reiterated to the councilors that the assignment to change the living conditions of the population of Tiko is a collective endeavour: “You must be able to implement feasible recommendations made in previous sessions, check and stop the haphazard construction of commercial and private residences below electric high tension lines along the Tiko-Douala road, in order to respect the norms of Urbanization in the municipality.”
The first assistant SDO equally implored the Mayor and his team to see that the people f Tiko shun ghost towns and civil disobedience; allow their children to seat for their exams and allow them to go back to school during the next academic year.
Meantime, Mayor Moukondo boasted of the fact that Tiko council owes none of its workers, as salaries are paid on time. He also mention that the council will be embarking on the realization of some priority projects such as; low cost housing; Municipal guest house and restaurant; modern slaughter house, recreation centre and a modern cemetery.
