BIR soldiers renew motivation at Oct. 1 epaulet ceremony

Over 70 military personnel of the Rapid Intervention Battalion known in French as BIR have been decorated with new epaulets which symbolises recognition of their services so far and acts as a boost for efficiency.

The ceremony to decorate the soldiers took place last October 1 at the BIR Base in Man O War Bay, Limbe III Subdivision, as part of the yearly tradition across Cameroon.  Among the newly promoted were three Commissioned Officers and 70 Non-Commissioned Officers, who received their epaulets from the hands of the BIR hierarchy, promoting them to their new portfolios.

The officers were recognised for the services rendered to the State by the hierarchy of the military, during the last phase of the event in this 4th quarter of the current fiscal year. The next ceremony comes up on January 1, 2025.

The Epaulets award ceremony which took place at the Sports Complex of the BIR Base, presided at by the Controller Inspector General of the BIR and Supervisor of the Activities of the BIR Base of MAN O WAR Bay, Colonel Belingua Henri.

Also present for the event were family members of the newly promoted who were given the opportunity to present bouquet of flowers to the newly promoted immediately after the Epaulets awards ceremony.

The ceremony was crowned with a military parade as well as photo sessions to immortalise the day.
