Tragedy befalls Limbe Central Police Commissioner

The head of the Gender based violence desk of the Limbe Central Police Station, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mvono Adjeme Catherine Epouse Nyebe is no more.  She died in a fatal road accident around the Pouma – Boumyebel National Road number 3, linking Douala and Yaounde.  The accident occurred on Friday, November 8, 2024. Mvono Catherine Adjeme was the wife of the Commissioner of the Limbe Central Police Station, Jean Pierre Simon Nyebe.

According to reports, The SUN gathered that the police vehicle transporting Mvono Catherine reportedly collided head-on with a heavy-duty truck transporting palm nuts. Images on social media networks showed a racked police car with people trying to pull out victims from inside.

At press time, a police statement was yet to be made public with regards to the incident. In a video circulating on social media showing the accident scene, a narrator could be heard saying five people were in the police car, including the driver. The SUN gathered that upon receiving news on the tragic incident, Commissioner Jean Pierre Simon Nyebe passed out, and was rushed to the Regional Hospital Limbe for medical attention that Friday.

Mvono’s remains were reportedly transported to the Centre Regional Hospital mortuary, while those of another two were said to have been deposited at the Limbe Regional Hospital mortuary.

Mvono leaves behind her husband, children, colleagues, friends and family members to mourn her. Her demise is a big loss to the Limbe Central Police Station and the entire police corp of the nation.
