After several postponments, elections to the general assembly of the Cameroon Bar Association, CBA has
finally been convened for Monday, July 14, 2025 at the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Yaounde.
This is according to a recent communiqué endorsed by the Secretary General of the CBA, Barrister Anne
Yolande Ngo Minyogog. According to the communiqué of which The SUN procured a copy, the agenda of the
day is expected to feature an address from the President of the General Assembly of the CBA, an address
from the Minister of State, Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, presentation of the financial statement
by the Bar President, election of the President and Vice President of the General Assembly of the CBA,
election of members of the Bar Council, and election of the Bar President.
The elective general assembly of the CBA this year is expected to produce fireworks as compared to that of
2022.
The elections of the 15 members of the Bar Council , which is the executive organ of the CBA, according to
the internal rules and regulations of the CBA and headed by the Bar President, will be at the center of
attraction. This year, 52 candidates will be vying in for the available 15 places as members of the Bar Council
who will man the affairs of the CBA. While five candidates have been retained to contest the postion of the
President of the General Assembly of the CBA, only two have been retained to contest the position of the Vice
President of the General Assembly.
For the position of the 15 Bar Council members, the incumbent Bar President, Batonnier Mbah Eric Mbah will
be seeking another mandate. Amongst the other candidates for the available 15 Bar Council members
include; Barristers Anne Yolande Ngo Minyogog, Mbuyah Gladys Fri epouse Luku, Nzoh Divine Mbokeh,
Zangue Serges Martin, Moussa Ganava, Enow Agbor Benjamin, Ngoulla Fotso Arlette, Asoh Ebi Epey,
Fouegoum Yonta Adeline, Akum Michael Nche, Njie Mokom Jude, Njissic Stephen Njilla Tamo David, Tamfu
Ngarka Richard Deugoue Raphael, Nkea Aleambong Emmanuel, Kontchou Gabriel and Ayamba Joan Manyi.
The candidates retained to contest for the position of President of the General Assembly include Barristers
Fousse Dominigue Gbaka Ernest Acho, Gouonpo Tsemo Hugues, Kameni John Sichui and Nomo Beyala while
Edward Lyonga Ewule and Derek Invo Buo respectively will be contesting for the Vice President of the General
Assembly of the CBA.
