Bishop Bushu commends CMA’s growth

The Bishop of the diocese of Buea, Emmanuel Bushu has commended CMA’s growth over the years. He was speaking during the Annual General Assembly meeting of Catholic men association on Sunday November 12, 2017 at St. Joseph parish hall in Muyuka.
Emmanuel Bushu captioned his sermon “Ready Yourself At All Time” with Scripture drawn from Matthew 25:1-13, while telling Christians to be ready at all times as the years draws to an end.
Bishop Bushu revealed that CMA started with only grown men but after 11 years, the association has witnessed a massive influx of youths

The Catholic Men Association is an apostolic group in the Catholic Church which the Bishop described as a gift of grace to the church
He cautioned the Christians not to only make the group a social group but work for the apostle and be messengers of Christ.
“The fact that young people have invaded the association is a good thing, I congratulate the leaders and urge them to overcome their various challenges and use them as a stepping stone”, Bishop Bushu told CMA members

He enjoined CMA members to always advise, pray and help each other and expressed optimism that by so doing, the association will develop in leaps and bounds in no distant future.
Resolution during AGM
At the close of the annual general assembly, it was anonymously agreed that they should be award of trophies after Bible quiz and singing competition and the prize amounts be increased.
•-That all members are expected to pay their diocesan due before 31 March every year.
•Praying manual should be printed as soon as possible.
•Dedication of aspirants should be carried out by the parish with the approval from zone.
•Certificate of dedication should come from the diocese.
•Members who have not yet had their membership cards should give their information to their respective zonal president for onward transmission of the their diocese.
•All the zones should wear the national uniform stated on the study guide.
•Money contributed for Bishop Support fund be handed to the Bishop.
•Diocese should assist during funeral of a member at branch level.
•Diocese should encourage zonal membership vote through zonal parish and branch level by award of performance.
•Diocese should follow up and collect FCFA 200.000 borrowed to the national body.
•More health information should be included during subsequent AGM
Earlier at the meeting the diocesan president Ngong Eviritus appreciated the massive turnout of members but regretted the fact that the annual AGM, which usually took two days, could not exceed one day because of the ongoing Anglophone crisis.
He however announced that the next AGM will take place in zone of Justice Holy Family Parish Limbe on November 10-11, 2018.
At the Bible Quiz competition, Zone of Faith emerged 1st; Zone of Peace came in 2nd while Zone of Humility came in 3rd. In the singing competition, Humility emerged 1st, Justice 2nd and Peace 3rd.
