While representing the Prime Minister Philemon Yang, Minister Luc Magloire urged Cameroonian businessmen and women not to waste such an opportunity but to make the best of it.
The minister explained that the Head of State’s objectivesin relation to FIACinclude “To offer a high visibility to ‘Made in Cameroon Products’, that is, encourage the consumption of local products by Cameroonians, and to contribute to the development of new promotional tools for the benefit of the productive sector, while ensuring the education and information of consumers.”
According to the President of the Inter-Progress International Foundation, Pierre Zumbach, this fair will go a long way to“Promote all business professionals, for the emergence of a strong productive sector and abundant supply in Cameroonian and ECCAS markets.”
Despite being the 1st edition, Pierre Zumbach said: “We are envisaging over 500 exhibitors registered under all forms of trade, led by the consumer sector. Made in Cameroon is at the forefront, beginning with companies that showcase their abilities to transform local raw materials.”
Maurice Diekem, Head of Sales and Marketing at Dangote Cement Factory, said Dangote saw the fair as a platform to meet their consumers and new prospects, reason why they acted as one of the sponsors. “The turnout is very encouraging. As a leader in the market, we believe FIAC is an opportunity for the growth of our industry in Cameroon. It will also enable us demonstrate our knowhow in the market.”
It should be recalled that the idea and concept of FIAC, was born after the 5th edition of PROMOTE in 2011.
