Justice and Peace Commission tasked to seek solution to Anglophone crisis

The National President of Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace Mgr. Abraham Kome who doubles as the Bishop of Bafang says he has assigned a commission to propose solutions to the ongoing crisis in the country.
He made this revelation last Monday April 23, 2018 during the 34 general assembly for the Justice and Peace commission of the Catholic Church which held at Holiday Inn Resorts, Limbe and brought together members from all ten regions of the country.
According to Bishop Abraham Kome, the aim of the annual general meeting is to promote justice and peace in Cameroon. He added that, the annual general assembly is coming at the climax of the ongoing crisis in North West and South West Regions of the country.
“I have instructed the Justice and Peace Commission of the Bamenda Episcopal diocese to seek for solutions, in collaboration with the national service of Justice And Peace Commission, to solve this crisis. The results of their work shall be presented to the public in the days ahead. Bishop Kome told reporters.


On his part, the chairperson of the ceremony Bishop Immanuel Bushu expressed optimism that socio-political crisis in the North West and South West regions will soon be laid to rest so long as government will look into the proposals.
He regretted that, Jesus Christ gave us peace but we can’t find peace on earth. ” Human being make problems and should be able to solve them.” Bishop Bushu added while emphasizing that the work of the commission is the highest task in the Catholic Church in Cameroon.
Speaking during the meeting Barrister Weledji Mariana said people are not aware of the current situation on the ground. “How long do we have to suffer for the authorities to know that we are suffering”, she questioned.
Barrister Weledji Mariana added that, the untimely death of young people of the North West and South West Regions is should be a major preoccupation to everyone. She regretted that some people do not even master the reason for the crisis but are being radicalized daily.
“We are dealing with people who are refusing to face the truth. People who say there can be no dialogue, no negotiation but fall short on proposing solutions to take us out of this crisis” Barrister Weledji added.
