Bridge linking Ekombe-Bonji to Marumba in Mbonge collapses

A bridge linking two important cocoa producing areas in Mbonge Sub Division, Meme Division in the South West Region is reported to have collapsed. Denizens, mostly farmers in these villages have expressed frustration over the collapse of the bridge.
The collapse of the bridge that links Ekombe-Bonji to about 12 other villages is presently causing untold hardship and suffering to the farming population. They complain that, they are finding it very difficult to transport their farm produce to nearby markets.
For over a week following the collapse of the bridge, farmers in that locality only struggle to pass through very difficult tracks in the forest to go to nearby markets. The farmers are calling on the government to come to their rescue and repair the bridge that was rehabilitated by South West Development Authority, SOWEDA in 2009.
