Ibrahim Talba Malla, the newly appointed Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Public Contracts has vowed to encourage decentralisation and local development. The former General Manager of National Refining Company, SONARA made this remarks on Friday January 4, 2019 shortly after his appointment.
Reacting to his appointment, Talba Malla expressed appreciation to the Head of State and said he will selflessly serve the nation and Head of State. He vowed that he will fulfill his job as far as decentralisation is concern and even local development and will be committed.
Talba Malla said he has an idea of his new task but with the help of his collaborators, he will work to overcome any obstacle with his over 36-year experience serving the state.
While regretting that he will miss his friends and collaborators in SONARA who supported him toward his success, he noted that the success is not only his success but that of the team. He however promised them that he will pay regular visits.
Talba Malla equally called on workers and SONARA shareholders to work towards the success of the second phase of the modernization process of the refining company.
Speaking to reporters, the director of public relations, communication and translation Blasius Ngome said he is elated for the promotion of his boss to the post of minister of public contracts.
He added that since the appointment of Talba Malla on February 15, 2013 as General Manager, he gave hope to all SONARA workers because in seven months he has organised the whole SONARA by coming up with an organisational chart which is not just statistics but job description of each and every worker in SONARA; and created the post of technical adviser, moving from six to ten directors.
Ngome said he sincerely admired the approach of GM Talba Malla who did not only take into consideration certificate as far as appointments were concerned. “He took into consideration certificate and character. Talba Malla is a man of experience, very generous and has human interest at heart.”
“You know Talba Malla is a civil servant who has worked in various facets of administration. So I count on his experience and human approach to problem solving. By my judgment, he will be up to the task,“ Blaise Ngome averred.
Those who turned up at Talba Malla’s residence to celebrate his appointment included among others the Government Delegate to the Limbe City Council Motanga Andrew Monjimba, CDC General Manager Franklin Njie, friends and well-wishers.
