Members of the South West Elite Association (SWELA), Meme division branch have in a recent release headed by the deputy Secretary general Dr. Prince Nasako Daniel Molondo appreciated the government of Cameroon, specifically the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Prof. Mouelle Kombi and the governor of the South West Region, Bernard Okalia Bilai for the successful organization of the just ended 2019 Mount Cameroon Race of Hope and the Women’s Day Celebration.
SWELA has congratulated the efforts of the aforementioned personalities who despite the security challenges in the region, successfully managed to host the above events in the region.
The appreciation message from the SWELA was equally extended to the separatist fighters whom they(SWELA) said have been so far able to gradually restrain and helping to put to shame all detractors of peace ensuring that the population massively participate in public manifestations in the region.
It should be noted that though SWELA is pleased with the restrain from the separatist activities in the region, they still frown and condemn the burning of the Kumba District Hospital. “We are calling on all parties involved to give room for an Inclusive dialogue and I am optimistic that the present government led by Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute will in the days ahead brainstorm and work out the solution to the crisis which has plagued our regions for quite some time now” Prince Nasako Daniel explained to The Sun in a recent interview granted him.
The SWELA equally called for reconciliation between the population and the governor of the region whom they said out of anger described some recalcitrant youths as dogs early in October last year. The deputy S.G on behalf of SWELA has pleaded with the youth to cooperate with the administration to bring lasting peace in the region. He equally appreciated all the women who embraced fear and came out on March 8 to participate in the 2019 Women’s day celebration throughout the region.
It should be noted that ever since the passing way of SWELA’s president late Moki Joseph Etukeni onto eternity, the post of president has remained vacant as members of the association are still to produce a new leader. Nonetheless, despite the demise which befell the association (the death of their leader), the association has not stopped in championing its fight for peace and stability to return in the South west region.
