Soldiers donates didactic materials to GHS Kumba Mbeng

As part of the ongoing activity by the military to reconcile with the population of the North West and South West Regions who already considered them as enemies, the Commander of the Assistance Unit of the Rapid Intervention Battalion has handed over an important consignment of didactic materials to Government High School, GHS KumbaMbeng.
The handing over ceremony took place on March 14 at the school campus in the presence of the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO for Meme Division, Chamberlain Ntou’ou Ndong and the staff and students of the institution.
The Commander of the Rapid Intervention Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Nko’o Ella in his address said their presence in school was not only meant to improve the teaching and learning process of the institution but also clean off the bad image many had against the military.
He used the ceremony to call on the few students present to encourage their friends to start coming to school.
Receiving the important consignment consist of; office chairs, computers, books, a fringe, a big generator plant, footballs and many more, the Principal of the school, Esporal Ewane Ngaanjie describe the items as not only important for the school but also very timely, coming at a time when most parents are facing financial difficulties caused by the ongoing crisis.
‘We are very pleased with the donation of military for this is going to enhance the teaching and learning process of the institution. The gifts are coming at a time when most parents are facing financial difficulties due to the ongoing crisis as most of them are unable pay their children fees even with provision of books and pens’, the Principal noted.
On his part, Meme SDO thanked the military for their assistance to the school. He appreciated the courage of the staff and few students who are coming to school despite the difficult situation other schools are facing.
The SDO further assured the administration and students of the school his personal commitment to secure the school from any form of attack.
