According to sources, the incident occurred on Wednesday March 20, as amba fighters stopped a bus asking for their usual support; unfortunately, the military caught up with them.
In the course of the cross fire, a bullet penetrated into the bus and got Perpetual on the head.
After the gunshots, the passengers continued on their journey, though very sad for losing one of them. Sources noted that the deceased was rushed to the Muyuka mortuary.
Perpetual was returning to Douala from Teke village, in Kumba III Sub-Division where she came to visit her family before meeting her demise.
Recently, travelling through the Kumba-Buea highway has become very risky, as passengers are harassed and kidnapped on a daily basis by gunmen with their valuables confiscated in most cases.
A recent case is reported on Tuesday March 19, when close to 80 passengers from eight buses were kidnapped and taken into the bushes by gunmen at Banga Bakundu.
The abductees were finally rescued thanks to the timely intervention of the military.
