Primary school teachers kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in Kumba

Two female teachers of Destiny Nursery and Primary School, Bonakama, Kumba I Sub-Division have been abducted and taken to an unknown destination by unidentified gunmen.
The incident occurred during the morning period on Thursday April 11, when activities were about gaining steam in the neighbour.
The teachers whose names are withheld for security reasons teach Nursery One and Two of the institution.
Sources disclosed that alleged Amba boys reportedly stumbled on some school kids who were coming back home from school. Questioned by the boys, the kids said they are from school. The guys immediately proceeded to Destiny Nursery and Primary School with the intention of disrupting classes though finally made away with two teachers.
Military officers are said to have stormed the area in search of the gunmen to no avail. The intense atmosphere provoked schools around the neighbourhood to close prematurely.
Examination students who were attending catch up classes were found rushing home for fear of indiscriminate shootings.
As search for the gunmen intensified, officers were said to have extended their patrol in most neighbourhoods that linked to Bonakama. In most neighbourhoods The Sun visited, denizens said officers asked for identification documents from pedestrians, bike riders and their passengers.
Reports hold that a firewood splitter was arrested for lack of ID card in the course of the patrol. The wood splitter whose name we got as Orlando Bekondo popularly known as Becks latter tried to escape as the military diverted their attention to a bike rider. He was shot in the process, reports hold.
When the family came to evacuate his remains, the deceased mother is said to have told denizens of Sonafang neighbourhood that this is the third time Orlando has been arrested for lack of ID card and he has successfully made his way twice.
The deceased mother also said Orlando was asked to stay at home for a while in order to complete his ID card process but he refused.
Orlando Bekondo was an ex-student of PHS and CCAS Kumba and had an Advanced Level in the sciences but had some mental disorder due to excess drug consumption.
