Bangem inhabitants lament network, electricity failure

Inhabitants of Bangem in the Kupe Muaneguaba Division of Cameroon are lamenting the lack of network and electricity for over six months now.
Speaking to The SUN, Francis Njili, an inhabitant of Bangem said they are really suffering, and held that the disruptions are as a result of the ongoing crisis, as separatist fighters may have disrupt the network and electricity supply cables along the way from Melong to Bangem.
He however pleaded for the government and mobile communication companies to intervene so they too can communicate with their relatives in other parts of the country.
Other inhabitants added that, they move from Bangem to Mbuaso just to make a call which they spend over FCFA 1000 for transport. Ebong Brigette pleaded with the authorities of mobile network and government to seek for a solution to reinstate network so they can communicate with their friends and relatives across the world.
Business people are lamenting over the loss of products, as they cannot afford money to keep their products in the refrigerator as there is no electricity; some businessmen told The SUN that, they have declined from business because they cannot cope with the situation.
The populace is worried with the ongoing Anglophone crisis which has persists for close to three years now. They say their lives are not safe as everyday there is in confrontation between the separatist fighters and the military. At times, the separatist fighters attack them on their way to the farm, market and in their homes and request for support, they say.
The population is thus calling on the government to take action to solve the conflict in the North West and South West, so as to have lasting peace in the country.
During the administration, management and stores management accounts session of the Nguti Council, the SDO of Kupe Muanenguba, Keyantio Augustin assured the population of Bangem not to lose faith in the government, but that they should shun secessionist acts and he told the separatist fighters to drop their weapons and seek peace, as the government is ready for a geniune dialogue with them but not separation as some of them are clamoring for.
