Muslim faithful in Limbe have been urged to intensify prayers to Allah to bring an end to the ongoing Anglophone crisis. The call was made by Imam Kouotou Issah of the Central Mosque II at Motombi Street in Limbe, on Wednesday June 5, 2019, during celebrations to mark the Ramadan feast.
Imam Kouotou Issah emphasised on nation building, stating that the Muslim faithful should know that they have their part to play in the development of the country. Quizzed on the significance of the day, he said the day is to show how much mankind should be obedient to God.
On his part Imam Muhammad Mustapha Kang of Central Mosque I said the message of the Ramadan feast was about the continuous struggle in which they were supplicating and asking Allah to assist the North West and South West Regions in particular and the nation in general about the ongoing struggle, looking for heavenly peace.
Imam Muhammad Mustapha added that it is really a heavenly peace because the nation of Cameroon for a very long time has been known universally as a nation of peace, but it is a surprising issue to hear that of recent, the people of Cameroon and the land of Cameroon has been facing a lot of destabilization.
Imam Muhammad Mustapha went on to say that they were crying to Allah to assist them now and now. He equally urged the Muslim faithful to continue to worship Allah in any condition.
The ceremony was attended by the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako Engamba Emmanuel Ledoux, Divisional Officer of Limbe I Seraphin Epale, Mayor of Limbe I Ro-danny Mokako Mbua among others dignitaries.
Kumba
Muslim faithful in Kumba together with their Imam have used the celebration of the Feast of Ramadan to pray for peace to return to the North West and South West Regions of the country.
The ceremony that took place on Wednesday June, 5 2019 in the presence of the 1st Assistant Senior Divisional Officer ASDO for Meme Division, Joseph Nguime saw the massive turn out of Muslim faithful at the Kumba Central Mosque in Fiango, Kumba to thank Allah for sustaining them during the period of fasting and to mark the end of the Ramadan period.
The Imam of Kumba, Ibrahim Mohammed in a 20-minute prayer called on the government to look for a lasting solution to the ongoing crisis in the North West and South West Regions.
Imam Mohammed together with the chief of the Muslims in Kumba, Malam Uba Bouba extended a hand of peace to the 1st ASDO, to forward the message to the powers that be for peace to return to these parts of the country.
Talking to the Chief of the Muslims in Kumba, Malam Uba Bouba, he noted that after all the difficulties and sufferings the two English Regions have gone through, it is time for peace to return.
“There is need for peace to return to the North West and South West Regions just like the Imam rightly said. The Imam prayed that peace should return to the North West and South West Regions. It is time for the both parties to see that the war is not necessary, they should stop it so that we can go back to our normal life style’, the Muslim chief said.
He was corroborated by another Muslim faithful, Suleiman Mohammed who said they need peace.
“The Imam earlier on prayed for peace to return which everybody is equally praying for. He equally prayed that Allah should give the government wisdom on how they can solve the ongoing crisis”, he said.
Imam Mohammed further encouraged Muslim faithful to continue assisting internal displaced persons around the town of Kumba and beyond.
