Nestlé Group says the creation of the Institute of packaging Sciences falls within the framework of its overall programme in making innovative progress that targets its 2025 packaging commitments deadline which is said to have already achieved some breakthroughs. Some of them are the development of products by the company’s experts and suppliers such as recyclable paper packaging which is now used in Nesquik All Natural Cocoa Powder and the Yes Snack bars, realised within 12 months, they say.
The institute, Nestlé adds, is another bedrock to be part of Nestlé Research entity in Switzerland to assist not only their global network including Cameroon, but also major global private sector players, universities and others to join the innovation of the waste management ecosystem known to be a global challenge.
Mark Schneider, Nestlé’s CEO declared, “Our vision is a world in which none of our packaging ends up in landfill or litter” and they expect others to emulate their example.
