FabAfriq’s findings across 35 companies dissected into seven competing categories recognised Nestlé Cameroon’s performance for having led 15,000 kids to gain nutritional education programmes, 3,500 healthcare professionals trained on pediatric nutrition and neonatal re-animation, and for having produced more than a million serving of fortified foods consumed daily across the nation, as part of their individuals and family programme or platform.
It was also found out that Nestlé Cameroon within their platform of giving back to their communities created 110 job opportunities to youths through what they call “My Own Business” initiative.
FabAfriq dug deeper and realised that 6,600 litres of safe drinking water is supplied daily around Nestlé Cameroon’s factory neighbourhood, while 100% of waste water is recycled and re-used. Also included was a herculean 25 ton plastic waste collected and recycled in 2019.
Robert Helou, the Nestlé Cameroon Managing Director did not take pride of this all by himself: “I dedicate this award to our loyal consumers and to all Nestlé Cameroon employees. We could not have made it without you. This award recognises Nestlé Cameroon’s efforts to help families improve their quality of life everyday. It is also an encouragement to accelerate concrete actions to continue improving nutrition, health and wellness for our communities and for the protection of the environment.
