UBA Cameroon offers F CFA 150 M to help fight COVID-19

The Pan-African Bank with a respectful subsidiary in Cameroon, has offered to support the government of Cameroon in their struggle to combat the Coronavirus in society, with a financial stimulus of F CFA 150 million, The SUN has learnt.
His Royal Highness Chief Ekoko Mukete, the Board Chair of UBA Cameroon in his recent declaration appreciated government’s efforts so far and stated that the bank could not sit idling by without some reasonable contributions in solidarity to stop the dreaded virus from spreading at what can be described as a rapid exponential rate.

In a release dispatched from the communication department of UBA Cameroon on March 26, 2020, UBA Group present in 20 African countries (also in the UK and the USA) announced a stimulus package of U.S. Dollars 14 million which they said is from the UBA Foundation “to catalyse a comprehensive Pan-African response” to beat back the pandemic.
Out of the 14 million U.S. dollars, 4.2 million was allocated to supply medical technological and other scientific wherewithal in all UBA presence across Africa while the balance is allocated for Nigeria.
UBA Group Chairman, Tony Elumelu declared “this is a time when we must all play our part. This global epidemic must bring citizens, governments and business leaders together and quickly. As we see a rapidly increasing number of cases, the private sector has to work hand in hand with various governments.”
