The Prime Minister, Head of Government paid a condolence visit to the British High Commission in Yaounde last September 9, 2022.
Chief Dr. dion Ngute on the occasion presented Cameroon government’s condolence message to the British High Commission. In a message about the departed Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, he wrote “The world has just lost one of its prominent unifying personalities. The Queen transcended politics, race, status etc.”
Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute arrived at the High Commission in the afternoon on that Friday accompanied by his Director of Cabinet, Balungeli Confiance Ebune. He was welcomed as he came out of his limousine by the Chargé d’Affaire at the British High Commission in Yaounde, Nigel Holmes. He then led the Prime Minister to the reception hall of the British High Commission where a condolence book in honour of the departed Queen Elizabeth II had been put on the table. Looking down on the table was an imposing picture of the Queen placed conspicuously on the wall. Prime Minister Dion Ngute took of time and penned his condolence message on the book. After this, he chatted for some minutes with the Chargé d’Affaire about his experiences, especially as he had met Queen Elizabeth II two times. The Prime Minister in the message wrote, “I had the opportunity and privilege of meeting her twice. Those moments remain indelible in my mind. She loved Cameroon.”
