Customs DG retells collaborators of FCFA 1004,7 bn target in 2023

The Director General of Customs, Fongod Edwin Nuvaga has reiterated his congratulations and thanks to his collaborators for consolidating good performance in 2022. The Director General of Cameroon Customs was speaking last January 9, 2023 while chairing the first coordination meeting of officials of the central and devolved services of the Directorate General of Cameroon Customs. He reminded them to always give in their very best to maintain an ever-performing Customs administration in several areas in 2023.

He reminded his collaborators of the new task set forth by the government in 2023 for the Directorate General of Customs to collect FCFA 1004,7 billion as customs revenues.

He said just like last year, despite a difficult context marked by a slowdown in world business  and under the supervision of the Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze, the Directorate General of Customs is putting in place pertinent measures on the path of performance.

He disclosed that last year, the Directorate General of Customs mobilized FCFA 897,4 billion as against a target of FCFA 863, 9 billion giving a realization rate of 103,9%.

Officials listened to exposes on Customs measures in the 2023 Finance Law by the Head of the Legislation Unit, Dr Diffouo Guy Innocent under the coordination of the Head of Division for Legislation and Contentious, Tchami Yves Patrick, budget provisions and strategies to optimize spontaneous revenues in 2023 by the Head of Statistics Unit, HamadjamRapheal under the coordination of the Head of Division of Statistics and Recovery,  AtebaBikoun Helene Elise, and an expose on the none elements of taxation by the Head of Division international Cooperation and Taxation Base, Kwedi Samuel Desire, and an expose on public expenditure by the Director of Resources and Logistics, Pagou Louis.

Fongod Edwin Nuvaga concluded by prescribing discipline, efficiency, collaboration, ethics, professionalism, transparency, assiduity and responsibility to all Customs elements in the discharge of their duties nationwide.
