The Town Planner of the Kumba City Council who doubles as the Head of the Municipal Police, Ernest Epie Nnoko who was kidnapped on Tuesday, July 17 has been freed.
The council staff was released on Thursday, July, 19, two days after his abduction at his Mile One residence at the Kumba I neighbourhood.
A close source at the Kumba City Council disclosed that the Town Planning Boss was released in bad shape.
Report holds that immediately after his released, he was taken to the Douala General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
The SUN is yet to confirm if any ransom was paid to secure his release. It should be noted that Epie Nnoko was abducted by unknown gunmen to an unknown destination.
Ever since his abduction, one was yet to know the reason for his abduction and those responsible for it. Nonetheless, sources close to the family said it might be related to the ongoing socio-political crisis.
His abduction happens to be the first ever registered for council workers in Meme division. His colleagues who are now worried about their own safety.
