African Bar Association condemns Ngarbuh bloodbath

In a Press Release dated February 22, 2020, the African Bar Association, through its Country Co-ordination in Buea, South West region of Cameroon, has voiced out its anger following the Ngarbuh incident, maintaining that women, children etc constitute “protected species in wartime under International Humanitarian Laws.”
The release is detailed as follows:
The Country Co-ordination of African Bar Association (AFBA) joins the rest of the world and the human family to express outrage at the 14 February, 2020 Ngarbuh, Ntunbaw gruesome Massacres of babies, children, pregnant women including the burning down of the homes of these hapless victims and civilian communities in the Donga and Mantung Division of the English Speaking Region of Cameroon. All these atrocities have been raged against the classes of persons and things constituting protected species in wartime under International Humanitarian Laws.
We solemnly declare and submit that The Ngarbuh, Nturbaw February 14 2020 Massacres and community arson has left a severe dent on our consciences as members of The global Human Family. We are even in a paucity of words to convey our condolences and shock at this apocalyptic human orchestrated ground-breaking brutality and barbarism by a people upon its very own. AFBA Country Co-ordination stands with the victims, their families and the entire community of the English Speaking people of Ngarbuh Village at this unfortunate and darkest moment of their story.
On the 17th February 2020 the Cameroun Government indicated that there would be investigations into these atrocities.
